As previously announced we will have no in person learning on Tuesday, Election Day. In consideration of teacher safety they will be working from home and the school office will be closed.
We have begun the I-Ready testing in most grades. Kindergarten will begin this week. Please know that these are diagnostic tests so do not help your children with answers. That would be like taking them to the dentist and having the doctor look at your X rays. The assessments do not affect grades but rather allow teachers to plan instruction based on student needs. Teachers will assign work but students should not be on more than 60 to 90 minutes a week.
Also as with all standardized tests there are questions that go beyond what has been taught in school or even on a student’s grade level. This is to determine students who are working above grade level.
Again these are low stakes tests, they are not part of permanent records nor will they affect grades. Teachers will be communicating more information as needed for specific classes.
Have a safe and happy Halloween. Remember to turn clocks back on Sunday.
