It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of Antoinette Giunta, mother of Ms. Giunta who has been a big part of the SNT family and taught so many of our students. Mrs. Giunta had been in Hospice care and had previously tested negative for the Corona virus. Her death was the natural result of age and related conditions. Please keep Ms. Giunta in your prayers and respect her wishes as expressed to me “I don’t want people assuming it was the virus”. It was not the virus and despite the pain of her loss Ms. Giunta’s first thoughts were of her SNT family.
I have asked the teachers, especially those in the younger grades, not to mention this today so that you as parents can handle it in the way you feel best. Our other two kindergarten teachers will be working with Ms. Giunta as much as possible so distance learning can go on. But our first thoughts are with Ms. Giunta and we will do nothing to burden her further. I have also asked our Guidance Counselor, Mrs. Puglisi, to be available especially for K1. We will also provide assistance to students in other grades especially those who most recently were in Ms. Giunta’s classes.
The prayer posted today on the website was done before I received the news so tomorrow we will pray as a community for the repose of Ms. Giunta’s soul. As there are no public gatherings permitted including funeral masses we will have to wait until we return to school to have some observance. If you wish to reach out to Ms. Giunta,to offer condolences I would recommend school email, firstname.lastname@example.org
Eternal rest grant unto her O Lord and let Perpetual Light shine upon her.
