Below are our current plans in dealing with the corona virus based on information currently available. Be assured that we are communicating regularly with diocesan, state and city officials and will keep you informed if things change. The most important thing is that we have good communication between home and school so please be sure that we have updated contact information for you throughout the day.
Report Cards: To cut down on building traffic and usage 2 copies of report cards will be sent home on Wednesday March 18 for parental review. Please sign and return one to school by Monday March 23. If you would like a phone conference with a teacher please provide a number to be reached and arrange a time for you to receive a call and he/she will call you on March 19. Please do not call the school as that will tie up our phone lines. There will be no in person conferences. Dismissal on Thursday March 19 will remain at 11 am and school will be closed for the faculty retreat on March 20.
After School Care: There will be no after school care on Thursday March 19.
New York State Tests: Grades 4, 6 and 7 are scheduled to take the New York State ELA assessment on March 25 and 26. At this time exams are going on as scheduled. Should this change you will be notified as soon as possible.
Field Trips: No field trips will be held until at least after Easter. The Met game is not a school trip as families must provide their own transportation. If this changes you will be notified about procedures.
School Cleaning: The school is cleaned every night and inspected each morning before doors are opened. All surfaces were sanitized on March 6 and we will do it again during Easter break. Waste baskets are emptied every day in mid-morning and materials are brought directly to the dumpster. Bathrooms are also inspected mid-morning and after lunch. Cafeteria surfaces are sanitized between each lunch period. The playground is sanitized each morning.
Tuition: Please keep your tuition payments current as we need to ensure cash flow as our bills (salaries, health care) continue. Families with significant arrears will not be given report cards.
School Closing: We are following all guidelines from the Diocese of Brooklyn, New York City Department of Education and New York State. Be alert to messages via Option C
Contact Information: Be sure we have current contact information for you. Communication will be via email, text and the school website.

Technology: If your child does not have access to a computer at home we will lend a Chromebook or IPad. Parents must assume responsibility for safe return of the devices. Please notify your child’s teacher if you need to take advantage of this. The devices will have their own built-in internet acess.
Personal Health: Please follow all procedures recommended by the Department of Health at home as we will in school:
• Wash Hands Frequently and avoid touching faces, eyes and noses
• If a child is sick please keep him/her home
• Spring will bring allergy season and with it increase runny noses and sneezing review with your child safety procedures
